Breast Cancer Boot Camp

Join us for this program designed to inspire and empower breast cancer survivors and their caregivers to take charge of their health and wellness. This program combines physical fitness activities with education and support activities that are customized to meet each individual participant’s needs and goals. Each boot camp participant will meet with one of our counselors and our wellness coordinator to create a “prescription” of recommended activities. Open to those enrolled in Boot Camp only. Culinary Comforts

Culinary Comforts is a 4-week class based on healthy food preparation and designed for people living with cancer and their caregivers. Instructors will prepare and serve the group one entrée, one side dish, and one dessert each class. The ingredients and preparation are discussed so that recipes can be easily replicated at home. This 4-week class meets Wednesdays from 5:30-6:30pm.

Preference is given to those who have not previously attended.

Knitting Circle

Do you knit, crochet or do needlepoint? Repetitive needle work has been found to relieve stress and anxiety resulting in improved health. Join us in the afternoon for snacks, coffee and socializing. Bring your friends and family, this group is open to the community. This group meets Tuesdays from 1:00-2:30pm.

Life Journaling

Explore your mind, heart, and emotions with freedom of expression through journaling. We will help you find your inner voice with a few easy techniques to begin creating your personal journal. Write about your life story, gratitude, forgiveness, faith, and affirmations to help ease stress, grief and emotional pain. We encourage everyone to join us, no writing experience is required. Journals will be provided but you are welcome to bring a journal that fits you. This group meets the second Wednesday of the month from 6:30-7:30pm.

Look Good...Feel Better®

Look Good…Feel Better® is a program offered by the American Cancer Society that teaches beauty techniques to women who are actively undergoing cancer treatment to help them combat the appearance- related side effects of radiation, chemotherapy, and other cancer treatments.  Come and learn tips for skin care, makeup application, hair and wig and nail care.  All participants receive a free tote bag of cosmetics (valued up to $200). One per person. Sessions will take place every second Monday of the month. See current newsletter for session times.

Men & Cancer Breakfast

The Men & Cancer Breakfast is an informal gathering to provide men the opportunity for fellowship and information sharing over a hot breakfast. This group is open to men who have been impacted by cancer. If you are a survivor, caregiver, or have lost a loved one to cancer you are welcome to attend. The group meets every 3rd Saturday morning from 8-9:15am.

Reflection of Expression for Adults

Reflection of Expression is an adult-focused creative arts program.  It is an evening of self expression through a variety of mediums. The class is set up as an open forum so you can come for an evening or make it a 12-week class. No previous art experience required. This group meets every Thursday from 5:30-7:30pm.

Soul Collage®

Soul Collage® is a process through which you use your intuition to create a deck of cards with personal meaning. Cards are created using book and magazine images and arranged in a collage on a card.  This is a creative process that anyone can do. Meets the first Wednesday of each month from 6-9pm.

Time Out

Time Out is a new program designed to give kids a break from the cancer experience and have some fun.  This group will provide  recreational activities that vary from meeting to meeting and is open to both pediatric cancer survivors as well as children who have a cancer diagnosis in the family.  Call ahead for scheduled activity topic and to register. Group meets on one Tuesday per month from 4:30-5:30pm.

LivingWell is a not-for-profit resource center.  All programs and services are provided free of charge.
