At LivingWell we believe that everyone in the family is affected by the cancer experience. Our children and family programs provide comprehensive educational, supportive, and recreational programs for children, teens, and parents experiencing cancer in the family.

INDIVIDUAL/FAMILY CONSULTATIONS
LivingWell offers consultations with a member of the clinical staff for individuals and/or families interested in learning more about what specific programs and services would be of greatest benefit for them.
CLUB COURAGEOUS
Thursdays, 4:30 – 5:30 pm, April 11 – June 20
Club Courageous is a 5-week support group for children ages 6-12 who have been impacted by cancer. Participants will participate in a variety of educational, art and support-based activities to help process their cancer experience. Parents will be invited to attend the final session.
NATURE CAMP
Monday – Thursday, June 17-20, 11:00 am – 1:00 pm, Leroy Oaks Forest Preserve, St. Charles
Bring the kids out for this 4-day adventure at Leroy Oaks Forest preserve. We will enjoy nature in the creek, catch frogs & tadpoles, make a sculpted creation in clay, paint a canvas and create a torn paper picture. Please wear clothing that can get dirty and wet, apply sunscreen and bug spray, and pack a lunch each day. Those ages 5 and up are welcome to attend without a parent. Those younger than 5 are required to be accompanied by a parent or caregiver. Group will meet at Leroy Oaks Forest Preserve in St. Charles. Details available upon registration.
BEYOND THE CASTLE WALLS

Join us for games, treats, and arts and crafts at this family event in an enchanted land of dragons, princesses, and magical moments. Dress up in your favorite party attire! Please register early as space is limited.

TIME OUT!
Time Out is designed to give kids a break from the cancer experience. This group provides recreational activities that vary from meeting to meeting and is open to children impacted by cancer. RSVP is required to ensure enough supplies are available.
Wednesday, May 22, 5:30 – 7:30 pm – Camp In!
Join us for laughter, popcorn, smores and a movie under the stars in our children’s room! We will be showing the movie Parental Guidance (rated PG).
SPRING CELEBRATION

6:00 – 8:00 pm, presented by LivingWell Cancer Resource Center and the Make-A-Wish Foundation
LivingWell is proud to partner with the Make-A-Wish Foundation to host an evening of fun and amusement for those ages 18 and under who have experienced a cancer diagnosis. Come enjoy snacks, arts and crafts, and spring festivities! Parents and siblings are welcome to attend.
This event is open to those ages 18 and under who have experienced a cancer diagnosis and their parents and siblings. Space is limited and RSVP is required at 630.262.1111.
TEENS FACING TOUGH TIMES
1st and 3rd Wednesday of the Month, 6:30 – 8:00 pm (April 3 and 17, May 1 and 15, and June 5 and 19).
Our Teens Facing Tough Times group for youth ages 12-16, provides teens with the opportunity to share their experience with a loved one’s cancer diagnosis (open to both those who are currently experiencing a loved one’s cancer diagnosis or are grieving the loss of a loved one). The group will focus on helping teens process and cope with their thoughts and feelings towards cancer, develop healthy coping skills, and process changes they are experiencing in other areas of their personal, family and/or social lives. Please call to confirm meeting dates and times as they are subject to change based on enrollment. Registration is required.
